If you like the rich, detailed sound of our SoundDock® digital music systems you’ll love this compact system. Bose® waveguide speaker technology makes a similar acoustic performance possible. Simply plug it in, add it to your home wireless network, and you’ll have a speaker that’s right for all your streaming content.

With the SoundLink® Air system, you no longer have to physically dock your device. Instead, the system lets you simply connect wirelessly, so that you can stream music from a computer running iTunes or your favourite Apple device, while retaining complete control of your Apple device as you’re listening.

An auxiliary input allows you to connect and play music from devices that don't use AirPlay. The optional rechargeable battery lets you turn the system into a portable speaker, which can easily be carried around the house thanks to a built-in handle. Use your device or the included remote to control the system, or adjust the volume with the system’s own buttons.

Never miss a beat as you move from one room to the next. Stream your music in multiple rooms by using additional SoundLink® Air systems throughout your home, which are networked to your computer.

What is AirPlay and how do I know if my device has it?

AirPlay is a wireless technology by Apple. It allows you to listen to your music wirelessly by streaming content from your Apple device or a computer running iTunes to a speaker (or multiple speakers) enabled for AirPlay. A home wireless network is necessary to stream via AirPlay.

How does music stream from my Apple device to the SoundLink® Air system?

First, make sure the system and your Apple device are on the same wireless network. When you launch an app that plays music, you will see the AirPlay icon on your device's screen. Push the icon and select "SoundLink® Air system" (or the name you've given the speaker) from the list. Music will then stream from your Apple device to the speaker.

How do I control the system and the content that’s playing?

While streaming, you can use your Apple device for function control. You can also use the system’s remote to control volume, source selection, play/pause, mute and forward/rewind.

Can I stream music from one source to multiple SoundLink® Air systems?

Any computer running iTunes can stream the same content to multiple SoundLink® Air systems. However, with an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, you can only stream to one SoundLink® Air system at a time.

Can non-Apple smartphones stream music using the SoundLink® Air system?

No. AirPlay is an Apple technology designed specifically for use with Apple devices to stream music. A non-Apple smartphone can connect to the SoundLink® Air system via the auxiliary input.

What is the wireless range of the system?

The wireless range depends on the range of your home wireless network. A typical home wireless network has a range of about 19.8 m.
