Traditional styling tools typically use extreme temperatures to break bonds in the hair and reset them in a new shape. This can cause permanent damage to the hair. The Dyson Airwrap™ multi-styler styles hair from wet to dry using Coanda airflow, not extreme heat.

Key controls

Style with air, not extreme heat

The Dyson Airwrap™ multi-styler harnesses an aerodynamic phenomenon called the Coanda effect. It uses air to attract and wrap hair to the barrel, or surface of the brush or dryer.

The 13-blade impeller spins at up to 110,000rpm, generating 3.2kPa. Powerful enough to produce the air pressure that creates the Coanda effect.

Intelligent heat control

Measures airflow temperature over 40 times a second, intelligently controlling the heating element to keep the temperature under 150°C. Preventing extreme heat damage.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my Dyson Airwrap™ styler on dry hair?

We don’t recommend using the styler on dry hair because the style will not last. You can use a water spray to dampen hair if youdon’t feel like washing it.

Can I use my styler when travelling to countries with different electrical voltages?

Your styler has been precisely engineered for styling at the voltage of the country in which it was purchased. This allows it to run atoptimum performance. As voltage varies from country to country, please follow the guidance on usage in the guarantee sectionof your user manual.

Does my hair have to be wet to start styling?

Yes. For best results, start with freshly washed hair. All our brushes can be used on wet hair, but the barrels work best on damphair. Use the Pre-styling dryer to dry hair to damp before styling with the barrels.

How often do I need to clean the filter?

The white LED on your styler will start to flash when it's time to clean your filter. Over time, hair products, dust and lint can clog thefilter – restricting the airflow and preventing your styler from performing at its best. So it’s important to clean it when you’reprompted to.

What length of hair are the 30mm and 40mm Airwrap™ long barrels designed for?

The long barrels are specially designed for hair that's longer than collarbone length. For long hair that's shorter than collarbonelength, we recommend using the shorter 30mm Airwrap™ barrels and 40mm Airwrap™ barrels. Both the long and shorter barrelscan work on long hair that's above or below the collarbone, but you'll get the best results if you use the recommended barrel foryour hair length.

Why are there different Dyson Airwrap™ styler sets and attachments?

Not everyone has the same hair type, or wants the same style. So we’ve designed different attachments to work for different hairtypes and create different styles. We’ve created two styling sets with attachments for specific hair types, and a set with attachmentsfor multiple users or styles.
